Although they look good, I have no desire to look like the fitness models we all see in the media. Nor do I ever want to be a super skinny size zero because I sincerely think that underweight women look disgusting. Besides which, I’ve read enough health articles to know how dangerous crash dieting can be. I may not want to look like the fitness babes or have a waist like that of Victoria Beckham, but I have no desire to be obese either. I believe in eating enough healthy whole food to sustain your body, but I don’t eat to excess. I also take the advice of health articles and try to stay active. I just want to have a normal healthy body and feel content. I’ve noticed that a few women I know have gone on diets and lost a great deal of weight after having children. They started off being heavier than me and ended up weighing less. Then, as women are inclined to do, they have compared their body to mine and wondered how come I have less loose skin, cellulite, body fat and stretch marks than them despite the fact that I’m bigger in terms of build, height, weight and dress size. There are three reasons why these women still have cellulite etc. after losing so much weight. The first reason is that they have had children and giving birth changes your body. The second reason is that these women have ignored the advice in health articles which tell you that the way to lose fat is via healthy eating and exercise. If you don’t exercise, you can’t expect to tone up as you lose weight. The third reason is that these women have been crash dieting and losing weight and then regaining it for years. Fad diets will seriously mess up your metabolism. You can read all kinds of advice in health articles. Nevertheless, I think that staying toned and shapely is a no-brainer. Eat enough healthy whole food to satiate your hunger, but no more. Never eat just for the sake of eating. Finally, stay active by doing resistance work and cardiovascular exercise on a regular basis.
