Eating healthily and making the effort to do regular exercise is always a great idea. However, when you set yourself a goal you should use fitness models as inspiration rather than trying to emulate an emaciated celebrity. Real fitness models are not underweight, they are actually very toned and muscular. Fitness models never crash diet because this involves the loss of lean muscle mass, which actually damages the metabolism and makes it more likely that any future weight gain will comprise of flab.
Crash dieting to fit into a size zero is both physically and psychologically detrimental. Furthermore, there is nothing sexy about looking like a skeleton. If you look at the images of real fitness models you’ll notice that they look strong and there is nothing willowy about them. They are far more attractive than any of the starving catwalk models seen on the runways during fashion shows.
I recently watched a documentary on YouTube about a British celebrity called Louise Redknapp who went on a crash diet as an experiment. Take a moment to watch the final part of this documentary just to see what getting down to a size zero really involves. You will soon see that there is nothing glamorous or sexy about it.
