Avoid Pet Health Problems by Making Grass or Greens Available to Them |

I have a cat who is 18 years old and he has had virtually no pet health problems. I have a patch of lawn in the yard that I never use chemicals or fertilizers on so that he has access to grass year round (it's a warm climate) and it's the grass that has helped him avoid pet health problems. There are devotees of wheatgrass who say that drinking the wheatgrass juice is healing. I am inclined to believe them, and am thinking about getting started in consuming wheatgrass juice myself. If it has kept my cat healthy all these years, I can only hope that it will also keep me healthier. Health articles are mixed on the effects of wheatgrass, but my cat seems to be a living testament to how well it is keeping him healthy.
If your pets are experiencing pet health problems, make some grass available to them. You can easily grow some types of grass in pots in the house. Oats are the easiest to grow and don't require that much sunshine to grow. Oats are incredibly inexpensive in bulk from feed stores. I take two pounds of seeds, keep them in the refrigerator, and ask the feed store to donate the rest to animal rescue programs. |
